Leasing Consultant

Sterling Heights, MI

Responsible for leasing apartments and performing related duties

  • Converts phone calls into appointments
  • Shows and leases apartments
  • Processes paperwork, prepares leases and other documents, and completes lease signings
  • Maintains a closing ratio of at least twenty five percent
  • Provides outstanding customer service to prospective and current residents and others
  • Assists in the planning, coordination, and execution of the community marketing plan
  • Performs general clerical and other duties as assigned

The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:

  •  High School diploma or equivalent
  • A minimum of one year of sales or customer service experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work as part of a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in order to communicate with prospective and current residents and others
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to multi-task and remain organized
  • Basic computer skills to include Microsoft Word and email
  • Ability to use Yardi property management software system or must learn to do so within 90 days of hire
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand spoken English
  • Previous apartment leasing experience
  • Yardi property management software experience
  • Knowledge of Fair Housing Laws
  • Ability to walk, including stair climbing
  • Ability to use standard office equipment
  • Visual acuity adequate to perform all essential duties and responsibilities
  • Ability to work weekends
  • Must have and maintain a valid Michigan driver’s license with an acceptable record
  • Must have reliable transportation to travel to all locations within the portfolio and other locations as necessary

This is a full-time hourly (non-exempt) position eligible for commission pay.  The position generally works 40 hours per week.
